The Denver Nuggets seem to be that one team that quietly makes the playoffs every year and then makes the quiet exit from the playoffs. This wasn't so this season. They made it to the Western Conference Finals behind the play of all-stars Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups and breakout player JR Smith. The Nuggets traded Allen Iverson to the Pistons for Billups, which killed the Pistons while having the reverse effect on the Nuggets. The Nuggets only have one pick this year.
At pick #34 the Nuggets should draft:
Darren Collison - UCLA
PG
6'1" - 166 lbs.
Collison compares to Darrell Armstrong. If Collison drops to the second round, like I think he will, then he would be my biggest steal of the draft. Collison's amazing court vision and his midrange and free throw shooting are his biggest strengths. The biggest problem with Collison, though, is that he is no bigger than a toothpick. Collison NEEDS to bulk up to be able to hold his ground in the NBA. Collison would develop quickly learning from Billups and would be a solid backup PG for Denver.
